🌟 Meet our SG60 Changemakers: Lydia Susiyanti & Halinah Yatim 🌟
Halinah may have mobility challenges, but every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, she rides her scooter to help run Breakfast Buddy at Block 228A, Ang Mo Kio. She partners with Lydia to serve cereals, Milo, toast with spreads and juice to children who might otherwise start school hungry.
Halinah believes in choice and dignity: she asks the children what they’d like to eat, making each breakfast not just fuel, but a moment where they feel seen, respected and cared for.
Her commitment comes from experience—knowing the value of a small act of care. As she says, “Even when life has its limits, kindness has no ceiling.”
Through her dedication, Halinah shows that consistent, empathetic actions can lift spirits, nurture belonging and quietly transform a community, one breakfast at a time. 🥪✨
