In Their Shoes is an exciting new resource geared towards building empathy in young people, and we need your help to test it.
Empathy refers to the ability to understand and share others’ feelings without direct personal experience. It is a crucial skill in today’s multicultural environment and has become even more relevant after the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted several underlying inequalities.
Soristic, with support from the National Youth Council, has developed In Their Shoes: an online simulation game geared towards building empathy in young people. One game is themed on seniors, and another is themed on youth and social mobility. Players get to choose a character and ‘live’ through scenarios they may face.
We are incredibly excited to host a Game Release event on18 March 2021 at 5:00 pm. The event will include an opportunity to play through the latest version of the game, followed by an informal discussion about some key themes and takeaways.
A separate Game Review event will be held on 25 March 2021 for educators wishing to run In Their Shoes workshops of their own.
We look forward to meeting you: let’s take this step together!
