In this research, we collaborated with British Council to understand the trends, challenges and opportunities for social enterprises in Singapore in order to support the development of social enterprises in Singapore over the coming years.
British Council builds connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and other countries through arts and culture, educations and the English language. Furthermore, British Council also promotes the development of social enterprise as a means of addressing entrenched social and environmental problems and delivering positive change to communities and societies.
A survey was conducted with more than 100 social enterprises, focus group discussions with social entrepreneurs, one-to-one interviews with ecosystem actors and social entrepreneurs.
Our research gave us useful insights that enabled us to come up with a list of recommendations that we hope will provide guidance for future interventions to further develop social enterprise in Singapore.
