Just attended a judging round session for Citi-YMCA Youth for Causes. There were at least 12 teams of judges, with each team of judge assessing about five students projects. Very impressed with the student teams that I met. In the three to four months that they had to do their projects, some teams of four students were able to mobilize more than 800 volunteers. They held massive street sales, concerts and many other events. They were able to raise more than $50,000 for the benefiting voluntary welfare organisations from a small seed fund that they were given. From the volunteer recruitment/management, sponsorships canvassing, publicity to event organisation/management, a lot of ingenuity, leadership, resourcefulness and determination were shown by the teams. Some teams even managed to reach out to more than 20 thousand people with their social messages. I was very blown away by the scale of their projects as well as their can-do spirit. There were a lot of achievements in just four months. Felt very encouraged and inspired by your youths! Keep up the good work!
